This weeks "Something Cool" column we have.... this totally requires a drum roll... An Extreme Home Hammock!

So... about the "Something Cool" column before we talk about the massive hammock in the picture. The column will feature something extraordinarily cool every week. We will kind of direct you to some of the cool stuff we come by while rummaging through the world wide web.

Now.... back to the massive hammock in the picture. We found this while reading Re-nest, an awesome website by the Apartment Therapy group of blogs.

Let's talk about how awesome this would be.... in yours or my house...

First, you would always feel like you were floating. Second, you would have the coolest hammock among your friends (unless you know the guy in the picture). Third, if someone was chasing you in your home, not many people will jump on a hammock that suspends a floor above!

Just like the cool people at re-nest put out on their website, WOULD YOU WANT ONE? Let us know.. leave a comment... share your thought on Facebook... tell us if you would have one.

That's what we have for this weeks "Something Cool"

Little woot!...

Case Factori Crew.... OUT!

After this week's announcement that Apple's Steve Jobs was stepping down from his CEO position there has been a great amount of stories, and just a bombardment of views, experiences and different encounters that different people have had with Steve Jobs.

I just recently finished reading this great mini compilation of stories Fast Company put together on some experiences people have had with Steve Jobs. I just love how all of these stories show that Steve Jobs is really a person who while being easily one of the greatest CEO of our time, and I believe for many years to come, could still take interest in the smallest things. It could be part of work, but I find the most interesting part would be that he was interested in the smallest things in the life of others.

I know he must have made tons of people, mad, angry, and feel like they wish they had not crossed paths with him, but one of the stories that stood out to me from the Fast Company compilation is how Allen Paltrow, a student at Princeton University got invited to the opening of the 5th Avenue Cube. Here is the excerpt via Fast Company,

Allen Paltrow, student at Princeton University, via Tumblr:

"Growing up I was a huge apple fan-boy (fine, still am.) The first NY apple store in Soho opening was probably the coolest thing that happened to me between the ages 6 and 12. For a while I would spend almost every weekend there. Every year for halloween I was a mac, and I made a habit of shaving the Apple logo into my head to celebrate every OS launch. My neighbor Brooke mentioned that Steve Jobs, busy as he is, always reads email sent to his public address. I think I was around 12, and I sent a very enthusiastic and grammatically incorrect message including a picture of my shaved head. Apparently he forwarded it to the head of Public Relations, Katie, and I got invited to the opening of the 5th Avenue Cube. I can never thank them enough. This was probably the high point of my childhood."

The simplest thing that just made a kid smile, and have a great day was important enough for him to go out of his way to get him to a launch. I am sure many will say that it was just a small thing that he could decide to do and all. But really, it's the thought that went through his mind. While he had bigger, more important things to do, he still could reach out and make someone's day.

Again, I know this might not be much, and there are a whole lot of bad experiences people have had with him. But like I said, it was just something I felt stood out from the other stories of how he was so precise and concerned with details. I think this is a detail, a really small detail that made a huge difference.

Please check out all the great stories Fast Company has put together. I really enjoyed reading about the guy that, well...I believe I might never in my life meet, about how he made an impact on a lot of lives. Truthfully, while I have never meet him, just reading about him gives me inspiration to push Case Factori to bigger things than we can dream.
